Crystals require gentle handling, some tender loving care, and cleansing them regularly is a great way to maintain their pure energy. Since they constantly emit frequencies, and also absorb individual and environmental energetic pollutants, a good cleanse is essential.
There are several ways to cleanse crystals:
THE RICE METHOD can be used by placing crystals on top of rice. Any rice, brown or white will do. Leave it overnight. The rice will absorb all the negative energy from the crystals. You may even want to cover the stones fully with rice, if you feel you need to. Throw the rice away the next morning.
BURYING CRYSTALS in the earth is another great way to clean them off all absorbed energies. Be sure that your crystals are the kind that can take the moisture of the earth. Some stones are soft and can easily chip or damage if softened further with moisture.
SALT WATER cleansing is a method used by many, but my crystals quickly told me that they prefer being immersed in plain water overnight, followed by a shower in running water the next day. Go with your gut on this one!
MOONLIGHT revitalizes crystals. During Full Moon, simply clean your crystals with water first and around sunset leave your crystals to charge and clear under the moonlight. Moonlight has a powerful energetic impact on crystals, re-energizes and adds potency to their frequencies.
A QUARTZ CLUSTER can be used to clean other crystals, by placing them on it. Even SELENITE works much the same way. Stones in jewellery too can be cleansed by placing the item over the cluster or a piece of Selenite.
SMUDGING is one of the quickest ways to cleanse crystals. Hold the crystal to the stream of SAGE smoke or hold the sage stick close to the crystals.
SOUND and vibrations that emanate when a SINGING BOWL is played is strong enough to drive out negative energy the crystals may have absorbed. Playing a singing bowl is a great lifter-upper of vibrations in the house as well.
Again, you may choose to try out different methods, depending on what your crystals have been used for, and may require deeper cleaning in case of an illness. I mostly use the immersion in plain water method, but sometimes smudge and use singing bowls too!
